The Hill is named after a high point from which enthusiastic Scottish settlers would view horse races. Scotchmans Hill have fashioned this exceptional range of wines to be fresh and fruit driven, ideally suited to contemporary tastes, perfect for early consumption.

Fashioned from the ripest Sunraysia harvests of Black and Gordo Muscat grapes, parcels of the most intensely flavoured grapes, picked only as they achieve comely, watermelon pink hues. Treated to a course of natural spritzy ferment for maximum titillation, Innocent Bystander blooms with a brilliant bouquet of fairy floss and musk, blackcurrant and juicy turkish delights. A lively cépage of Black and Gordo Muscat grown to the Boulton and Duffy, Burge, Wall and Pratt Vineyards at Swan Hill. Early harvest is essential to arrive at a benign level of alcohol, a palate full of flavour, crispy citrus tang and natural fruit sweetness. A scrumptuous wine with an exotic mix of watermelon, musk and rose petal flavours, red apple, hubba bubba and pink ice cream. It's low in alcohol but a single bottle is unlikely to be enough because with a drink this good, there's no excuse for not sharing.

Established 1967, Deakin Estate sold their harvests until a winery was built in 1980. Many of the vines have now achieved considerable age, but the team's efforts remain focused on producing fruit of the highest quality and wines brimming with flavour. A brightly lit, fruit forward Sauvignon Blanc that's best enjoyed young for its zesty, youthful freshness. Deakin left his mark on the Murray Darling basin by importing the expertise of California's Chaffey Brothers to prepare the vast inland valley for a century of state of the art agriculture. Deakin Estate Cabernet is a fully approachable and satisfying early syle, brimming with luscious bramble cherry fruit.

A leading figure in the Australian wine industry for decades, Garry Crittenden was founder and chief winemaker of the renowned Dromana Estate, now a publicly listed company. Today he turns his efforts to hand crafting small amounts of the finest, stylized wines. One of Crittenden's pre-occupations is with the abstruse varietals. He has developed a flair for engineering the Pinot Gris grape into both the Italianate and Franco genres. Spatlese Lexia is a luscious, mouthfilling wine, fashioned to a late harvest style, toothsome and fresh, complex, crisp and clean, leaving the palate ready for another glass. This new grape combines the best attributes of both parents, presenting a new, exciting type of wine for Australia.
